Aerosmith’s members are reuniting for a highly anticipated performance at Steven Tyler’s sixth annual Jam for Janie Grammy Awards Viewing Party, set to electrify the Hollywood Palladium on February 2. The star-studded event, which benefits Tyler’s Janie’s Fund and other charitable causes, promises to deliver an unforgettable night of music, philanthropy, and resilience.
Joining the lineup is country powerhouse and 2025 Grammy nominee Lainey Wilson, whose addition has further amplified the excitement surrounding the Live Nation-sponsored affair. “Having an amazing artist like Lainey Wilson stop in and join us is going to make this year’s Jam rock like something I could have never dreamed of,” Tyler shared. Billy Idol, Joan Jett, Tom Hamilton, Linda Perry, Matt Sorum, and Nuno Bettencourt round out the evening’s roster, with Tiffany Haddish hosting the festivities.
Aerosmith’s special performance marks a highlight of the evening, though uncertainty lingers over Steven Tyler’s participation due to ongoing vocal challenges. Regardless, the band’s presence is a testament to their enduring legacy and commitment to supporting vital causes. The night will celebrate music’s power to heal and inspire, particularly in light of the event’s expanded mission to benefit not only Janie’s Fund but also the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and the Widows, Orphans, and Disabled Firefighter’s Fund.
“What the Los Angeles community has endured with these wildfires is unthinkable,” Tyler noted. “Music has healing powers, and we hope to bring a moment of joy and levity to our first-responder firefighters and those most affected by the fires. The trauma experienced by the girls we work with is also unthinkable, and we will continue to shed light and support the amazing work of Janie’s Fund.”
The evening will feature a red carpet, cocktail reception, dinner, live auction, and after-party, with more than 100 firefighters attending as honored guests. Tyler’s Grammy-winning hit “Janie’s Got a Gun,” which inspired Janie’s Fund, remains a fitting anthem for the cause, underscoring the mission to protect and uplift survivors of abuse. This year’s expanded focus ensures that the event raises critical funds for lifesaving equipment and resources for both the vulnerable and the brave.
With its blend of star power, meaningful causes, and the promise of an iconic Aerosmith moment, Jam for Janie is shaping up to be a cornerstone of Grammy week—a celebration of resilience, solidarity, and the enduring power of music.
Steven Tyler’s recent vocal injury casts a shadow over Aerosmith’s anticipated reunion performance at Jam for Janie. In late 2023, Tyler sustained significant damage to his vocal cords, including a fractured larynx, during Aerosmith’s farewell tour. The severity of the injury led to the cancellation of all tour dates and marked a poignant end to the band’s live performances. Tyler’s voice, renowned for its extraordinary range and raw power, has been central to Aerosmith’s legacy, making this setback especially heartbreaking for fans and bandmates alike.
This is not the first time Tyler has faced vocal challenges. In 2006, he underwent groundbreaking phonosurgery to repair a ruptured blood vessel in his throat. However, the recent injury has proven far more complex, requiring long-term care and rendering it unlikely that Tyler will perform at the upcoming event.
