Zombie metal band Dominum unveil their new single, “We Are Forlorn”, offering the next taste of their upcoming second album, The Dead Don’t Die, out December 27 via Napalm Records. The album’s massive opening track invites the listener on a dark and dramatic journey, underlining the heavier metal influences that Dr. Dead and his Zombies introduce on their second full-length – contributing to an even more bombastic and darker sound than on their debut.      

“We Are Forlorn” sets the perfect tone for a sinister atmosphere to run shivers down one’s spine. It’s accented by trenchant riffing, thundering drums and a matchless vocal performance by Dr. Dead. Together with a visually palpable official music video, “We Are Forlorn” marks a standout offering, yet only a preview for what’s to come when Dominum evoke the zombie apocalypse at the end of the year with The Dead Don’t Die.

Dominum entered the scene in 2023 with a blast and hit the top 20 of the Official German Album Charts immediately with their debut album, Hey Living People.

Massive album opening track “We Are Forlorn” invites the listener on a dark and dramatic journey that continues full-speed on “One Of Us”. Irresistibly catchy “Don’t Get Bitten By The Wrong Ones” features Dominum’s trademark eerie yet tongue-in-cheek lyrics, continuing straight from where the band left off with their first album. The monumental title track “The Dead Don’t Die” is another highlight on The Dead Don’t Die – a clever take on a classic children’s lullaby leads into brilliantly dark storytelling, that’s heavy instrumentation and a multifaceted vocal performance take to the next level. Feuerschwanz and dArtagnan mastermind Ben Metzner is featured on this song. In addition to the album’s 10 original tracks, Dominum continues delivering the exciting cover of Scorpions’ classic hit “Rock You Like A Hurricane”. Since the release of the first album in December 2023, Dominum has played nearly sold-out tours supporting big names such as Bruce Dickinson, Avantasia, Feuerschwanz and Peyton Parrish in Europe, as well as convincing international audiences at summer festivals such as Graspop and Rock Harz.

India’s Bloodywood have teamed up with Japan’s Babymetal for a new single, “Bekhauf”, which will be released on December 6th. Check out the teaser for the animated video below. Pre.save the single here.

Bloodywood performed at Mahindra Independence Rock in Mumbai, India on November 17th, and during their set the band peformed to new songs, “Nu Delhi” – their new single – and the unreleased “Tadka”. Check out fan-filmed video below.

Bloodywood recently shared a new documentary, Expect A Riot, which traces their journey since the release of their independently released debut album, Rakshak, in 2022. Check it out below.

Bloodywood have announced their signing to Fearless Records, celebrtating the occasion with a new single and video, “Nu Delhi”. It is the band’s first piece of recorded music since their independently released Rakshak album from 2022.

Metal Hammer has named Blood Incantation’s Absolute Everywhere as its album of the year.

The progressive death metal masterwork came out on top in an extensive poll of the magazine’s writers and editors. The honour follows the album’s release to critical and fan acclaim on October 4 via Century Media.

In its end-of-year issue, on sale now, Hammer says of Blood Incantation’s fourth full-length record: “​​Huge riffs and searing harmonics interwove with woozy bass emanations, craggy, cracked-meteorite roars and, at the album’s close, one of the year’s most breathlessly thrilling black metal climaxes.

“These moments, however, were laced with Eastern melodies, unexpected bongos, dashes of dappled acoustic prettiness and Mellotron workouts from members of Hällas and Tangerine Dream.”

The glowing critique echoes the review that the magazine offered when Absolute Everywhere first came out. Journalist Don Lawson awarded it a near-perfect 4.5 stars and called it “pure prog-death perfection”, as well as “one of the best metal albums of 2024”.

Blood Incantation had bold aspirations for their latest album, as they explain during an interview in the brand-new Hammer. “We didn’t want to make a ‘good’ record,” vocalist/guitarist Paul Reidl tells writer Dave Everley. “Every 10 or 15 years, a band will drop a record that really does change how other people do things. We wanted to make something that moved the needle.”

Reidl also tells Everley about recording Absolute Everywhere at Hansa Studios in Berlin, Germany: a space previously used by such legends as David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Killing Joke and Siouxsie And The Banshees.

“You’re not just walking in big shoes,” he says. “Being there humanises these people. There are couches there that are the ones Depeche Mode or David Bowie would sit on. Or you find yourself standing in a doorway where David Bowie would smoke cigarettes – you know, because there are photos of it. It demystifies their ambition, and it makes you realise that you are on the same path. They did all these great things, so why can’t you?”

According to Yahoo! News, Ozzy Osbourne is set to release a new memoir.

The 76-year-old rock star documented his life and career as part of Black Sabbath with I Am Ozzy in 2009, but now insiders have claimed that he is to reveal even more with a brand new tome.

A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Ozzy has had an explosive life and that hasn’t slowed down in recent years. He made headlines when he released his first autobiography I Am Ozzy in 2009 but a lot has changed since then. He has time on his hands since he stopped performing, so a new book is a nice project for him to focus on and is bound to be a good earner.”

The source added: “Enough time has passed now that he feels like he can address the affair he had shortly after the last book came out. Between that and the dramatic details of his illnesses and drug use, there are bound to be loads of revelations.”

Ozzy Osbourne and his longtime friend and colleague, late Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister, returned to the UK charts in mid-November with their duet, “Hellraiser”.

Forbes reports that  “Hellraiser” reappeared on a pair of charts in the United Kingdom on the week of November 15th. The tune was even a top 40 hit again, as it sold well enough on one format to become a proper win.

“Hellraiser” landed highest on the Official Vinyl Singles chart, where it re-entered the race at #36. It was also back on the Official Physical Singles list, but it didn’t manage to climb quite as high. On that ranking, which focuses on the top sellers on any physical medium—such as CD, cassette, and especially vinyl – Osbourne’s cut broke back in at #48.

“Hellraiser” is not new to either of the rankings it hits this time around. The song had spent 35 weeks on the Official Vinyl Singles chart. It’s racked up more than twice as many stays on the physical-only roster, where it’s now managed well over 100 turns.

“Hellraiser” – which was co-written by the two and Ozzy’s longtime guitarist Zakk Wylde – originally appeared on the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee and Grammy-winning singer and songwriter’s 1991 No More Tears album; Motörhead then recorded their own version and released it as a single from their 1992 March ör Die album.

The never-before-released “Hellraiser” mash-up with Ozzy and Lemmy was issued as a stand-alone release. The special 10” black vinyl single features three versions of the song: the classic original Ozzy track with Motörhead’s version of the same song as the B-side. It is available to order here.

The animated clip for Ozzy and Lemmy’s mash-up duet of “Hellraiser” is an homage to their decades-long friendship.

Produced by Hey Beautiful Jerk and directed by Mark Szumski and Gina Niespodziani, the video opens with Ozzy and Lemmy hanging out at the infamous Rainbow Bar And Grill on Sunset Blvd. (Lemmy’s unofficial second home) surrounded by friends. The two are transported from a calm day playing video games in the bar to a post-apocalyptic world where they battle evil forces before ultimately returning to the bar, where they pick up their video game as if nothing had occurred. Watch the clip below.

“I’m so glad we were able to honor my dear friend Lemmy with this duet and now the video,” Ozzy says. “We immortalized him with a clip of the two of us being together, hanging out and getting into some trouble as we so often did.”

AOR/melodic rockers Streetlight unveil their new single and accompanying official video “Sleep Walk”, out now via Frontiers Music Srl.

Vocalist Johannes Häger comments on the new single: “We are really thrilled to finally share what we have been working on in the studio lately! In classic AOR fashion, we feel that ‘Sleep Walk’ is a good taste of what Streetlight is all about, infectious music with a blend of ‘80s and modern production.”

Streetlight is an AOR/melodic rock band from Jonkoping, Sweden. The band is staying true to the genre, delivering distinctive melodies, punchy choruses and strong hooks, all in the likeness of bands like Journey, Toto and Kansas.

The debut album Ignition was released in 2023 by Frontiers Music, digitally and on CD. The music video of their single “Hit The Ground” has got over 140k views on YouTube. Since the release of Ignition, Streetlight have gained fans from over the world, and the album reviews have been stellar.

Streetlight is meant to be experienced live, and the band is taking their music on the road, playing both in clubs and on festivals, among others the Swedish AOR festival Malmö Melodic.

The music of Streetlight is melodic and guitar driven, with a sound that reminds you of the times when AOR was at its peak. And Streetlight wants to mediate music that is fun to listen to, as well as fun to play.

The debut album showed the world that Streetlight is a band to reckon with, represented by their distinct melodies and punchy choruses. The sound still has elements of the melodic rock heydays, wrapped in their own 2024 twist.
